Trump unveils new Cadillac sedan at Davos, Switzerland.

Earlier this week, President Trump used a new Cadillac SUV during his attendance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It is expected that a new presidential aircraft will also be put into use this summer.

The Director of the Secret Service, Sean Curran, stated in a post on X: “We are pleased to introduce these vehicles into our protective fleet based on our long-term relationship with General Motors.”

The post was accompanied by a photo showing a brand new shining Cadillac SUV adorned with the flags of the United States and Switzerland.

In March last year, President Trump met with Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, expressing the desire to introduce Cadillac SUVs into the protective fleet. Subsequently, Curran visited a General Motors factory in Warren, Michigan, to discuss the details of the next generation armored SUV.

The latest photos released by the Secret Service show the President’s new ride appears to be a modified Cadillac Escalade, but the Secret Service has not officially confirmed this.

The President’s primary vehicle is commonly known as “The Beast,” a custom armored extended Cadillac. Typically, there are two to three identical vehicles available for rotation at any given time.

“The Beast” is a Cadillac customized for the Secret Service, resembling a Cadillac CT6/XT6 in appearance but with a reinforced chassis, akin to a heavy-duty truck.

The vehicle weighs approximately 7 to 10 tons and features a multi-layered composite armor structure, including steel, aluminum, titanium, and ceramic materials. The body and doors are bulletproof, blast-resistant, and armor-piercing-resistant, with thickness described as “similar to the cabin door of a Boeing 757.”

The tires also have blowout capabilities, enabling the vehicle to continue driving even if punctured. The fuel tank is lined with foam for explosion prevention.

The passenger compartment employs a fully sealed design with an independent oxygen supply system to guard against chemical or biological attacks.

When not riding in “The Beast,” the President typically uses an armored Chevrolet Suburban. Secret Service agents protecting the President also utilize Suburbans.

In September 2024, the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service awarded General Motors a $14.8 million contract for the development of the next generation “The Beast.” In August 2025, the US government added an additional $13.5 million in funding. The contract is estimated to potentially be worth up to $40.8 million by 2029.

Additionally, the US Air Force announced on Thursday (January 22) that President Trump is expected to begin using a new aircraft before this summer. Previously, Trump, on Tuesday night before heading to Davos, had a “minor electrical issue” with the Boeing 747 plane, leading to the use of a smaller Boeing 757 instead.

In May last year, Trump received a luxurious Boeing 747 aircraft donated by the Qatari government as a temporary replacement for the new “Air Force One.” The 13-year-old Qatari government plane is lavishly outfitted and undergoing a multimillion-dollar refurbishment.

The Air Force stated that the aircraft is expected to be delivered “no later than the summer of 2026” and added that they are “closely coordinating with relevant government agencies to ensure proper safety measures and mission functional requirements are met.”

Meanwhile, Boeing is constructing two brand-new “Air Force One” presidential aircraft, but the progress has been repeatedly delayed. Last month, the Air Force announced that the delivery of the first new “Air Force One” has been postponed to mid-2028.
