In a remarkable coincidence in the ranks of the Chinese Communist Party officials, two officials from Guizhou province with the same name, same birthplace, and same job positions have been investigated for corruption, drawing attention.
According to a recent report from the Discipline Inspection Commission of Qiannan Prefecture in Guizhou province, Cai Guanghui, a member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Political Consultative Conference in Guiding County, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently under investigation.
Public records show that Cai Guanghui, a male from Xinhua, Hunan, was born in November 1975 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 2007 after starting work in August 1999.
After graduating from university in 1999, Cai Guanghui worked as a sales manager at Shandong Xiaoya Group. In 2004, he was transferred to the Investment Promotion Bureau of Guiding County, Guizhou Province, where he held various positions over the years, including Director of Business Department of the Investment Promotion Bureau, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Deputy Director of the County Government Office, Mayor of Yunwu Town, and Secretary of the Party Committee of Yunwu Town.
In 2020, Cai Guanghui was appointed as the Party Secretary and Director of the Transportation Bureau of Guiding County, then as a member of the Standing Committee of the Guiding County Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Guizhou Changming Economic Development Zone, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Guiding County.
Coincidentally, there was another official with the same name and surname who was previously investigated in Guizhou, namely Cai Guanghui, the General Manager of Guizhou Publishing Group.
This Cai Guanghui was born in October 1974, also from Xinhua, Hunan. He started working at the Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Statistics in 2002 and later moved to the Office of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Guizhou Province in 2003, holding positions such as Deputy Director of the Secretariat, Director of the Secretariat, Deputy Division-level Disciplinary Inspector and Supervisor, Deputy Director of the Secretariat Office, and others.
In 2012, Cai Guanghui was appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, and in 2015 he became a member of the Party Working Committee and the Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Guian New Area in Guizhou. In 2017, he served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Liupanshui Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, later concurrently serving as the Director of the Supervisory Commission. In 2020, Cai Guanghui was appointed as the General Manager of Guizhou Publishing Group. On January 10 this year, Cai Guanghui was officially announced to have been detained.
