Recently, a Chinese TikTok blogger posted a video saying phrases like “thanks to your father,” sparking online discussions and leading many netizens to link it with Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping, implying that he is reliant on family connections and incompetent. The video was later completely banned, drawing attention.
The account named “@Zhao Lin Brother” on TikTok recently used ambiguous language in a video, saying: “Thanks to your father, if it weren’t for your father, you would be just a farmer like me. It’s not that I look down on you, but you really can’t make it.” Despite not explicitly mentioning anyone, the video disclaimer stated it as “original piece, fictional performance for entertainment purposes.” However, many netizens interpreted it as a sarcastic reference to Xi Jinping. The barrage of comments above the video displayed a series of mocking messages: “I heard diplomas are fake.” “His father is no good either.” “Everyone knows who you are talking about.” “Go tell him in Beijing.” “He’s not good and quite evil.”
Some daring netizens asked: “When will it die?” “When will it pass away?” “And he’s still a primary school student.”
Shortly after the video was posted, it was taken down by the platform, and the blogger’s TikTok account was suspended.
The related video was uploaded to an overseas platform X, showing that before being deleted from TikTok, it had garnered over 5,000 likes, nearly 1,000 comments, and more than 1,300 reposts.
Netizens on platform X discussed: “How did the platform determine this as a veiled reference? Or was there a warning from relevant government departments?” “During the epidemic years, many people have seen through him…”
Following the ban of the above-mentioned video and the account “@Zhao Lin Brother,” many netizens searched for it in the comments section on TikTok.
Videos shared by netizens showed that “@Zhao Lin Brother” had previously made several videos questioning the era of peace without hunger or war, where missing persons have become common. With so many children missing, someone must be held accountable. “Those responsible for the missing population will face historical judgment, be nailed to the shame frame of history, and become the greatest sinners of the Chinese nation.”
On March 13th, the blogger posted another video on a new TikTok account “@Zhao Lin Brother,” saying: “Opportunity doesn’t come twice. If someone creates this opportunity for us, we must use it. If not, once the opportunity is missed, it may really be lost forever.” However, the target of these remarks remains unclear.
