On August 30, at 6:20 AM Eastern Time, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is set to launch at 7:26 AM Eastern Time (11:26 Coordinated Universal Time) from Launch Pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, aboard SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket. The telescope, named after NASA’s first Chief Astronomer Nancy Grace Roman, promises to provide a comprehensive view of the universe with an imaging field over 100 times larger than that of the Hubble Space Telescope, while maintaining the same sharp resolution.
With its broad field of view and a range of advanced observational tools, the Roman Telescope will help us discover new exoplanets and unlock the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy in the universe.
