Zhang Hesi’s “Height Limit” Lushengmen Former Employee Accuses Court of Favoritism

Chinese renowned testing company, Nuclear Huaxi, has recently sparked controversy due to a labor dispute with its actual controller, Zhang Nuclear. Previously, Zhang had been restricted from high consumption by the court for failing to fulfill the obligation to pay 200,000 RMB to a former employee, causing him to trend on hot searches. However, he quickly released a video of himself traveling in a business-class seat on the high-speed rail, claiming to be unaffected by the issue.

According to a report by The Paper, Yang, a former employee who applied for compulsory enforcement leading to Zhang’s “high restriction,” stated that the court lifted the “high restriction order” on Zhang the day after he was restricted due to the 200,000 RMB payment being processed. However, as the applicant for enforcement, Yang has yet to receive this sum of money.

Yang, who used to work for Zhang Nuclear, was involved in a legal battle with him over a labor dispute. She further revealed that the “Conclusion of Closing Case” provided by Nanshan Court showed that the court had deducted over 210,000 RMB for enforcement, claiming to have notified her to claim the amount. However, Yang received this ruling two months after the case was closed, and she was puzzled by the court’s deduction of taxes on her behalf and transferring 30,000 RMB to a bank account she never provided. She also disclosed that the court had hoped for her to mediate other labor disputes with Nuclear Company.

Additionally, two other employees of Zhang Nuclear’s company stated that their salary dispute is currently undergoing legal proceedings.

The report mentioned that when contacting Nanshan Court, the relevant enforcement judges refused to be interviewed.

Yang had worked at Nuclear Huaxi twice in 2019 and 2020, engaging in COVID-19 testing. She resigned on January 29, 2023, and subsequently sued Nuclear Genetics and Nuclear Huaxi for more than 1.1 million RMB in unpaid wages and business commissions.

After the court trial, it was determined that Nuclear Genetics frequently offered commissions to employees despite lacking qualifications for COVID-19 testing, with Yang actually performing related tasks, indicating a confusion in employment between Nuclear Genetics and Nuclear Huaxi.

The final judgment on September 27, 2024, by Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court ruled that Nuclear Genetics and Huaxi Lab jointly pay Yang over 794,800 RMB for wages, commissions, lawyer fees, and compensation. However, after paying 589,300 RMB, Nuclear Company ceased payments. Yang applied for compulsory enforcement at Nanshan District Court in Shenzhen and received permission on January 24, 2025.

Following the enforcement filing, Zhang Nuclear and his company still failed to comply. Judicial documents showed that on February 10, 2025, Nanshan District Court issued a consumer restriction order against Nuclear Genetics. The nine restrictions included prohibiting the unit and legal representative Zhang Nuclear from flying on airplanes, sleeping on soft berths, occupying all first-class seats on G-series bullet trains, and other non-essential consumption behaviors for life and work.

On February 13, Zhang Nuclear posted a video on Douyin showing himself traveling in a business-class seat on a high-speed rail, questioning whether it constituted “high consumption,” sarcastically indicating that he should report himself for high consumption. Several media outlets covered the incident.

The report indicated that Yang is not the only case. Another former employee of Nuclear Genetics has also filed a lawsuit against Zhang Nuclear and his company over salary and treatment issues. One employee named Hong Dong (pseudonym) is seeking around 400,000 RMB in unpaid double salaries and incentive raises. “They did not pay upon resignation, so I had to file a lawsuit.”

Regarding the above accusations and reports, The Paper attempted to contact Zhang Nuclear and his company but received no response via phone or text message at the time of publication.

As of now, Yang has still not received the aforementioned enforcement payment.
