Security Guard Inspected Xi’s Seat Before the Two Sessions, Prompting Mockery

【Epoch Times News March 28, 2026】Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping has been accused of extreme fear of death, with super tight security during his travels. A recent report by Japanese media exposed a rare scene at the Chinese Communist Party’s “Two Sessions” earlier this month: even at a conference organized by the CCP itself, the official security measures for Xi Jinping were remarkably detailed. This included the Central Security Bureau responsible for guarding him in Zhongnanhai, inspecting Xi’s seat before the meeting, thoroughly checking the table and chairs.

Japan’s TBS television recently reported on the preparation stage of the closing ceremony of the CCP’s “Two Sessions” on March 12, and the related video was later reposted on X platform.

The video showed that before the National People’s Congress of the CCP began, several staff members specially handled Xi Jinping’s seat.

One of the male security personnel (commonly known as Zhongnanhai bodyguards) checked Xi’s seat before the meeting, thoroughly patting the table and chairs.

Another staff member took out the pen used by Xi Jinping from a plastic bag, neatly placing them in order.

A female staff member carefully wiped the desktop of Xi Jinping’s seat (including the voting device) and the chair.

There were also two male staff members measuring the distance between the seats of Xi Jinping and Li Qiang with a ruler.

Xi Jinping’s two exclusive tea cups were delivered to the scene by a dedicated person, while others only had one cup.

Each person’s desk had a voting device, showing approval (green), opposition (red), and abstention (yellow).

This video on X platform sparked mockery among netizens:

“For the sake of serving this seat, three soldiers were used, with 20 operations.”

“Two reasons: one, doing too much evil, afraid of being assassinated. Second, feeling proud and showing off.”

“They intentionally let you in to film. The purpose is to announce to the world: Want to assassinate us? Not that easy!”

“Turning trivial matters into serious ones is a kind of ignorance.”

“Can understand, after all, they are all a bunch of flunkies.” “No different from North Korea.”

“Being so afraid even on their own turf! Checking so meticulously at the Great Hall of the People. Why do we all pour tea with the same rhythm, not staggered, each pouring their own, will they die? Truly professional in nonsense matters and the most nonsensical in professional matters.”

“Using a ruler, I can’t believe it, did they use a professional doctorate from a family of honesty to do this? It can be imagined how many people serve Xi Jinping’s attire when serving this hall seat. Three thousand local chefs to make a dish?”

Commentator Zhaoming said, “It’s still meticulous and detailed work done by Japanese television, recording the nitpicking of Chairman Xi at the Two Sessions, first with the top experts from the Central Guard Bureau trying out the seat, patting under the table, then the secretary coming up to place the special notebook and annotation pen in order, followed by the service staff coming forward to wipe, and even fanning to drive away moisture, then the tea cups, even controlling the water on the lid, everyone is on edge, Chairman Mao, Deng Xiaoping didn’t go to such extremes.”

Prominent pro-democracy activist Wang Dan said, “Even three pens have to be aligned. I don’t know why, but I just find it funny.”

A previous commentator analyzed that one of Xi’s two cups, one cup contains tea, but the other cup, held by a dedicated person, contains a container resembling a medicine pot, pouring a liquid for him, possibly traditional Chinese medicine. This may explain that Xi Jinping has been unwell and undergoing treatment.

Every time Xi Jinping travels, the security layout is astonishing. On July 1, 2022, during Xi Jinping’s visit to Hong Kong for two days, he remarkably did not stay overnight in Hong Kong and traveled in a bulletproof car brought from the mainland; in November 2018, during Xi Jinping’s visit to Papua New Guinea, two domestically produced bulletproof cars were also airlifted from China to the area.

Xi Jinping also receives strict security when travelling within China. In March 2025, Xi Jinping visited Guizhou and Yunnan for inspection. The security was tight wherever he went, with some netizens questioning whether he was wearing several layers of bulletproof vests.

On February 6 of this year, Xi Jinping attended a cultural performance to greet senior military officers stationed in Beijing for the Spring Festival and to visit old veterans. Several tall bodyguards wearing military uniforms were on-site, looking nervous when Xi shook hands with the veterans. This situation did not occur in previous years.

Political commentator Chen Pokong previously stated that Xi Jinping is constantly afraid of a coup or assassination attempts. Current affairs commentator Shen Zhou said that there are many assassination methods within the CCP, and Xi Jinping is defenseless against them.
