Macy’s Department Store announced that the grandest Independence Day fireworks show in the United States will take place over the Hudson River on July 4th this year. It marks the first return to the Hudson River since 2013, with the hope of attracting a larger audience to celebrate the occasion.
According to Macy’s official statement, this fireworks display will launch thousands of fireworks shells and various special effects from boats along the Hudson River, covering the area from Manhattan’s West 14th Street to West 34th Street. There will also be multiple viewing locations in New Jersey.
Since 1976, Macy’s Independence Day fireworks show, known for its grand scale and creative designs, has been organized annually. The event is conceptualized, designed, and produced by Macy’s Studio in collaboration with Pyro Spectaculars from Souza Company.
Mayor Eric Adams expressed that this traditional event not only brings economic benefits to New York City but also strengthens community cohesion. Macy’s fireworks display has become an important part of many Americans’ celebrations of the national holiday, attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators to the scene each year for pilgrimage, while others watch the broadcast on television.
Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey also expressed excitement about this collaboration, emphasizing that it is a special opportunity for New Jersey and New York City to celebrate America’s 248th Independence Day together. This fireworks display will not only illuminate the sky over the Hudson River but also deepen the connection among the people on both sides of the Hudson River.
For further details on activities and viewing information, they will be announced in the upcoming weeks through Macy’s official website. You can find more information by visiting the link macys.com/fireworks.
