At least two dead in Michigan shopping center shooting案

On Friday afternoon, a shooting incident occurred at the Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, classifying the event as a “major incident.” Police reported that two people were killed and one person was injured.

According to CBS, Dearborn police spokesperson Issa Shahin stated that the shooting took place around 1:25 pm on Friday, following a dispute between two groups that escalated into gunfire. Both parties involved were armed with guns when they went to the shopping center. This was not a random act of violence.

Shahin mentioned that one person died on the scene, while another succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. The ages of those involved were believed to be in their teens or early twenties, although Shahin could not confirm their exact ages.

Several individuals connected to the incident are currently being questioned by Dearborn police. However, Shahin did not disclose whether one of them is the shooter. The investigation is ongoing, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Shahin emphasized that there is no evidence linking the event to a robbery.

“Ensuring the safety of residents and visitors is always our top priority. Gun violence and other acts of violence are completely unacceptable, and we will hold all individuals involved accountable,” said Shahin.

The shopping center has been cordoned off. The Henry Ford Medical Center – Fairlane branch, located in the same commercial area, is also under lockdown, according to hospital management. Sources informed CBS that the victims of the shooting have been transported to the Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital.

Following the incident, the Dearborn Police Department issued an urgent warning on social media, advising all residents and visitors to avoid the area to allow law enforcement to secure the scene for investigative purposes.

Police assured the public that they would immediately release more information once available.
