Chen Xipeng, the initiator of the recall and chairman of the Oakland Chinatown Business Foundation, stated that the most important thing today is to demand that the county council promptly arrange a special election to replace Pamela Price.
He believes that public safety is paramount and invaluable, stating that “too many people are harmed every day, and we cannot delay any longer.” Therefore, the cost of inaction is too great to measure in monetary terms.
Chris Moore, the recall campaign manager, expressed that they gathered in front of the county government building to urge the Alameda County Council to promptly schedule the recall special election. Mr. Liang, 25 years old, who was born in Fremont City, came to support the recall of the district attorney. He mentioned the escalating security issues in Oakland, which have begun to affect Fremont City as well, with frequent incidents of highway shootings, home invasions, and neighbors’ cars being stolen.
He criticized District Attorney Pamela Price for not apprehending criminals, stating that her policies have led to various social problems in the entire East Bay, especially contributing to the chaos in Oakland’s security. Therefore, they are demanding the county council to expedite the recall of this district attorney.
Brenda Angulo’s son has been deceased for 9 months due to murder. She expressed dissatisfaction with the justice system, which took a long time to hold the suspect accountable for the crime. Her support for the recall action aims to bring about change for the residents.
