Taiwanese Singer Chen Shih-an Invited to Perform Flash Mob in the Street after Being Favorited by Korean Famous YouTuber

Malaysian singer Chen Shi-an released a new album titled “Heartfelt Songs” this year. The eponymous lead single “Heartfelt Songs” has been performing exceptionally well on digital platforms and major radio stations since its release. It has also caught the attention of the renowned Korean singer and YouTuber “OUBA MUSIC,” who thought highly of the song and even went as far as to rewrite the lyrics in Korean. OUBA MUSIC extended a special invitation to Chen Shi-an to perform together on the streets, and the video of their collaboration on this song was uploaded on YouTube today.

Last month, Chen Shi-an and OUBA MUSIC held a flash mob performance in front of the Beimen MRT Station in Taipei City, attracting a large crowd of onlookers. Despite the scorching sun that day, fans sweated it out while enjoying the live singing performance of “Heartfelt Songs” in both Chinese and Korean by Chen Shi-an and the members of OUBA MUSIC, showcasing their vocal prowess and charisma and providing a delightful musical experience for the audience.

During the event, OUBA MUSIC surprised the audience by singing a classic hit, “Tian Hou,” with Chen Shi-an. They also incorporated Korean lyrics into the song, adding a fresh twist to the timeless classic.

Even though it was his first street performance, Chen Shi-an expressed no feelings of awkwardness or shyness. He quipped, “I have sung in motorbikes and taxis before for promotional purposes, having experienced various singing environments. Street performances pose no challenge for me, a ‘music maniac.'”

Collaborating with a Korean singer for the first time in a flash mob event, Chen Shi-an shared that he had seen OUBA MUSIC’s videos before and found them very artistic, a performance style he had always wanted to try. Immersing himself in the crowd, singing in a relaxed atmosphere made Chen Shi-an very happy, stating, “I thoroughly enjoyed playing music with OUBA MUSIC singers. The harmonies with different vocal parts made the songs rich and our collaborative performance was very pleasant!”

Having a penchant for listening to Korean songs, Chen Shi-an believes that Korean songs and Taiwanese songs share a similar vibe that requires a certain “intonation.” He admitted finding it challenging to master the Korean “intonation” but expressed his wish to collaborate with various Korean artists in the future. Chen Shi-an hopes to create a song blending Korean and English, where he sings the English parts, transcending language barriers through music.
