Hong Jinli and Biden to Attend Joint Campaign Event on Labor Day.

Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden will attend a campaign event together for the first time during Labor Day weekend.

According to a report by The Hill on Tuesday, Harris’s campaign team announced that the Vice President will participate in campaign activities in Detroit and Pennsylvania on Labor Day next Monday.

The campaign team stated that Harris will join Biden at an event in Pittsburgh to express their support for labor unions.

Following Harris replacing Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee, they both attended an official event at the White House, emphasizing the reduction of prescription drug costs for Medicare, but next Monday will mark their first joint appearance at a campaign event.

Pennsylvania is a key battleground for the November election, with Biden previously stating his commitment to invest and support Harris in the state.

This joint event is part of Harris’s campaign team’s Labor Day promotional activities.

In addition to the aforementioned locations, the campaign team announced that Vice Presidential candidate and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and his wife Gwen Walz will participate in activities in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will attend an event in Newport News, Virginia.

The campaign team also mentioned that Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and campaign co-chair Mitch Landrieu will rush to the battleground states for rallies.

Since Harris took over from Biden as the Democratic nominee, she has garnered support from several major labor unions, including the United Auto Workers (UAW) union.

Harris stated that she will continue to advocate for most of the labor policies as Biden. Biden has claimed to be the most pro-union president in history, personally joining a strike by auto workers in 2023.

Former President Trump once stated that even if he had disputes with union leaders, union members would support his campaign.

However, Trump’s allies believe that if a portion of union members who support Biden is stripped away, it may have an impact on the already intense 2024 election.

In the 2020 election, union members supporting Biden outnumbered those supporting Trump by 14 percentage points.
