Taiwanese Blogger Xing Xiya Loses Battle with Cancer After Over 10 Years, Passes Away at Age 44

Taiwanese popular blogger Cincia was diagnosed with stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma in 2012. Over the years, she underwent chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and other treatments. After nearly 12 years of fighting cancer, she documented her journey on her blog and in a book, inspiring many fellow cancer patients. However, Cincia’s Facebook page announced last night that she had passed away at the age of 44.

Cincia’s Facebook page “Cincia’s Cancer Fighting Diary” posted a message last night, saying, “Farewell! Cincia is embarking on another journey… Cincia will reunite with everyone in memories and meet in dreams!” The farewell ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on the 26th at the Chongyi Hall of the Banqiao Funeral Parlor.

According to Cincia’s past Facebook posts, she began coughing in February 2012 and was not diagnosed with stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma until six months later. She underwent chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and brain radiation therapy. Although the tumors had once completely disappeared, she continued to cope with cancer cells, making the treatment journey extremely tough. Later on, due to receiving brain radiation, she experienced paralysis in the right facial nerve, deafness in the left ear, and other complications, such as strabismus and corneal damage.

At one point, Cincia expressed her frustration, saying, “Can the big boss level of brain metastasis give me a brief break from this endless challenge?”

Earlier this year, Cincia’s assistant mentioned that despite her relatively good physical health, she had poor eyesight, unclear speech, and issues with facial nerve function. Despite these challenges, Cincia actively sought alternative treatments such as targeted therapy, chemotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture. However, the unexpected news of Cincia’s passing last night shocked her longtime fans, who expressed their condolences and best wishes, with some saying, “You fought a perfect battle, rest easy now and fly freely.”
