On June 12th, MEAN WELL USA, INC. held a “Partner Day” event in Fremont, California, inviting partners, suppliers, customers, community groups, and employees’ families to participate. The event featured music performances, a charity art exhibition, and a charity market, with proceeds from sales and matching donations supporting charitable organizations, showcasing the spirit of a company connecting with the community and giving back to society.
The charity market on that day offered items such as wheel cakes, pastries, tea leaves, eco-friendly health products, kitchenware, household goods, handmade products, and artisanal soaps. The charity art exhibition featured paintings, handmade ceramics, and sculptures for sale, providing a diverse and rich experience for attendees. Each guest received $100 tokens provided by MEAN WELL to spend at the various booths, and the non-profit organization Ema’s Table donated 20% of its earnings from that day.
Founder of MEAN WELL Group and SDG Group, Guo-Dong Lin, traveled from Taiwan to the United States to attend the event. In an interview with Dajiyuan, he mentioned that MEAN WELL is a global company, with the U.S. being an important hub in the group’s global layout, making Partner Day an event he always participates in personally. He also revealed that the team is planning future site usage based on different customer groups and service needs.
Ted Cheng, Chairman of MEAN WELL Taiwan, stated that Partner Day is an important event for SDG Group in gathering partners, hoping to hold it regularly in the future to bring partners together while giving back to the community. He also mentioned recent efforts by MEAN WELL to expand overseas investments, including expanding the European headquarters in the Netherlands and ceremony for the expansion of the value-added and logistics centers in Kansas City, USA.
Leo Cheong, General Manager of MEAN WELL USA, mentioned that Partner Day has been held since 2024 and this year marks the second edition. The event invited partners, suppliers, customers, and employees to participate, and due to the positive feedback from the first edition, it was decided to continue the tradition. Since its establishment in Fremont in 1999, MEAN WELL USA has been collaborating with local groups to support charity and community activities. The proceeds from this year’s event’s sales will also be matched 100% by the company.
Deputy Director Zhu Yongchang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, attending the event, emphasized MEAN WELL as a successful example of a Taiwanese company in the Bay Area, holding a leading position in the global power supply system field. He highlighted Taiwan’s prominence in international trade and economy due to its democratic system, economic strength, and supply chain advantages, hoping MEAN WELL’s partners worldwide could visit Taiwan to witness its development and achievements.
Mayor Lily Mei of Fremont also showed her support at the event, acknowledging the positive impact MEAN WELL has had locally and in supporting Bay Area non-profit organizations, exemplifying the spirit of corporate success contributing to community development and shared growth. She expressed gratitude to MEAN WELL and the community for their support.
The non-profit organization Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) not only participated in the charity market and art exhibition but also sent a band to perform. Executive Director Ai-Ching Yeh said that MEAN WELL has been supporting FCSN since 2014 by inviting them to events, showcasing the talents of children with special needs, and providing donations. She thanked MEAN WELL founder Guo-Dong Lin for his ongoing support for disadvantaged groups and FCSN.
The Timely Rain Foundation brought 14 artworks by disabled artists titled “Love Without Barriers” for display and sale. CEO Chien-Ru Luo hoped that the event could encourage corporate employees to participate in charity activities. Multiple charity organizations set up booths at the event, including snacks made by FCSN, handmade pottery cups, and artisanal soaps, creating a meaningful and enriching experience.
San Francisco High School of the Arts exhibited 9 paintings by students and arranged a performance of “Butterfly Dance” by three students. Leading teacher Shalina Fung stated that the school had participated in MEAN WELL Partner Day for two consecutive years, supporting MEAN WELL in promoting charity and community interaction as one of the community organizations. She mentioned that the performing students had received five to six years of dance training, with the school continually nurturing dance and painting skills through cultural courses and daily art training.
Maryellen Stack, Vice President of Marketing Communications and E-commerce at Sager Electronics, purchased two art pieces at the event. She mentioned that Sager Electronics is an important distributor for MEAN WELL, with MEAN WELL being a key brand in the company’s product line. Having collaborated for many years, she attended Partner Day to show support for MEAN WELL. Sager Electronics will move to a new office space this fall and intends to display the pieces there as a reminder of their participation in the event, continuing the spirit of charity into the corporate space.
