Trump attends US-Saudi Investment Forum: America is back

On Wednesday, November 19, during the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the United States, President Trump gave a speech at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum held at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

“Today I want to convey a very simple message to all the leaders and investors present (who are the best in the world): under the leadership of the Trump administration, America is back – America has opened its doors for you to do business in the U.S.,” President Trump said.

“We officially designated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a ‘Major Non-NATO Ally’ yesterday – this is a big deal… we will be selling some of the best military equipment ever made to Saudi Arabia… including nearly 300 American-made tanks,” he said. “This week, our two countries signed groundbreaking agreements on civil nuclear energy, critical minerals, and artificial intelligence… yesterday, the Crown Prince announced they will invest $1 trillion in the U.S.”

“Whether you come from near or far, we are delighted to welcome you to choose this world’s most popular country for investment,” the President said. He also mentioned that America’s GE Aerospace company “will soon deliver dozens of new aircraft engines for the 787 Dreamliner to Saudi Arabia.”

“Every new job created and every new factory resulting from these announcements will strengthen our middle class and solidify America’s industrial backbone,” he said.

At the investment forum, Saudi and U.S. officials praised the billions of dollars in new investment and the increasingly close financial relationship between the two countries. President Trump stated that dozens of companies signed agreements and sales contracts worth $270 billion on Wednesday. Crown Prince Salman also praised the investment agreements signed by both parties.

According to Reuters, Salman was scheduled to meet with top executives from many influential American companies at the forum later on Wednesday.

According to the event schedule, CEOs from companies such as Chevron, Qualcomm, Cisco, General Dynamics, and Pfizer will attend the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum. Executives from IBM, Google under Alphabet, Salesforce, Andreessen Horowitz, Boeing, Halliburton, Adobe, Aramco (Saudi Aramco), State Street Bank, and Parsons Corp will also be present.

Tesla CEO Musk and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will also participate in discussions on advancing AI at the forum.

“The agreements finalized yesterday have opened doors for U.S. companies to lead globally in innovation, security, and deployment,” said U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutenick.
