Over 40 Cattle in a Farm in Hunan Province Die Suddenly After Being Fed

On the afternoon of June 3, more than 40 beef cattle on a breeding farm in Xijiangqiao Village, Luhong Town, Dong’an County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, collapsed one after another after being fed, with the cause unknown.

According to a report by Ji Jie News, on the afternoon of June 4, a resident of Dong’an County in Yongzhou City, Mr. Pan, revealed that these more than 40 beef cattle were raised by his elder in the mountains of Xijiangqiao Village, and his elder has been raising cattle for 4 years.

“At around 4 p.m. on the 3rd, my elder and another person fed the cattle with grass and other food they planted on the mountain. Approximately half an hour later, the cattle began to collapse and die,” Mr. Pan said. He expressed that if all these 40 beef cattle grew to full size for sale, they would have been worth between 400,000 to 500,000 yuan. The loss is now substantial.

The staff of the livestock management agency of Luhong Town stated that they have confirmed that the deaths of these cattle were not due to any epidemic disease, and the specific cause of death will be investigated and handled by the public security department.

The staff of the Luhong Police Station of Dong’an County Public Security Bureau said that the matter is currently under investigation.
