Tesla is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles due to issues with the tire pressure monitoring system’s warning light. According to Reuters, the recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Thursday (December 19) includes some 2024 Cybertruck models, 2017 to 2025 Model 3 models, and 2020 to 2025 Model Y models.
The tire pressure monitoring system warning light in these vehicles has a functional issue that causes it not to stay illuminated while driving, thus failing to effectively alert drivers to low tire pressure, which could increase the risk of driving.
The car manufacturer, Tesla, has stated that they will provide a free software update to address this issue. Owners can expect to receive notification letters by February 15, 2025. They can also contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Individuals can also call the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit their website at www.nhtsa.gov.
