A delegation composed of 27 American defense contractors arrived in Taiwan on the 3rd and is set to attend the “Taiwan-US Defense Industry Forum” on the 6th. The opening ceremony will be attended by former commander of the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific, Steven Rudder, and former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and legislator Chen Yongkang will deliver a keynote speech.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the delegation of 27 American defense contractors has already arrived in Taiwan, slightly larger in scale compared to the 25 participants last year. During their visit to Taiwan, aside from exchanging views on drones, defense industry, and other topics with government, industry, academia, and research sectors, they will also visit the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology and Aerospace Industry Corporation of China (AIDC) and meet with high-level government officials.
The sources mentioned that the delegation will participate in the “Taiwan-US Defense Industry Forum” held on the 6th at the Taipei International Convention Center, hoping to provide Taiwanese companies with opportunities to introduce their capabilities and seek cooperation with foreign counterparts through the forum.
The agenda includes the presence of TCCIA Chairman Han Rubo, Lieutenant General Steven Rudder from the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific, and former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of China and legislator Chen Yongkang delivering a keynote speech.
The forum consists of three main sessions. The first session focuses on “National Aircraft and Shipbuilding” with presentations from AIDC on “National Aircraft Construction and Future Planning,” CSIST on “Cooperation and Development of Key Technologies in Taiwan,” and CSBC Corporation on “National Ship Construction and Future Development.”
The second session revolves around “Advanced Technology,” with presentations from Oracle Corporation on “Application and Future Development of AI Defense Technology,” Institute for National Defense and Security Research on “Opportunities and Challenges in Taiwan-US Defense Industry Cooperation,” and Lung Teh Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. on “Development of Unmanned Surface Vehicle Technology.” The third session is dedicated to “Unmanned Drones,” featuring presentations from drone manufacturers Skyeton, Chung-Hwa Precision Machinery, and Aero Tiger Technology.
