A major traffic accident occurred in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province on the evening of October 14, resulting in 8 deaths and 4 injuries when a man driving a car collided with multiple electric bicycles.

On October 15, the Chiping Sub-bureau of the Liaocheng Public Security Bureau reported that at 10:46 p.m. on October 14, a case of drunk driving causing multiple casualties occurred in their jurisdiction. The 37-year-old driver surnamed Du drove a small car under the influence of alcohol, traveling from west to east on Xinzhen Road in the jurisdiction, colliding with several electric bicycles, resulting in 1 death and 7 others declared dead despite medical treatment, with 4 people hospitalized.

According to the report, the male driver surnamed Du has been brought under control. Preliminary investigations indicated that the accident was caused by Du’s drunk driving, with his blood alcohol content measured at 195.3mg/100mL, ruling out drug driving. However, the police did not disclose specific information about the deceased and injured.
