The Mayor of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, and the military stated that on Sunday (April 6th), Russia launched missiles towards Kiev, resulting in at least three injuries and multiple fires.
Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor of Kiev, posted on social media platform Telegram, mentioning that at least three areas in Kiev had fires raging.
He added that in the Darnytskyi district on the east bank of the Dnipro River, medical personnel had transported two civilians to the hospital.
He urged the citizens, “Do not leave your shelters.”
On that day, Ukraine went on high alert at 2 o’clock Greenwich Mean Time. Prior to this, the Ukrainian Air Force issued attack warnings nationwide, including in regions bordering Poland, leading Poland to deploy aircraft to ensure airspace safety.
Witnesses reported hearing several loud explosions, resembling anti-aircraft operations. However, the scale of the attack was not clear, and there were no reports of attacks or damage in the western Ukrainian regions bordering Poland.
A day earlier, the Russian attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine claimed at least 19 lives, including 9 children.
Although both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians in this war, thousands of civilians have already lost their lives in the conflict, with the vast majority being Ukrainians.
