In a recent incident at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia, a Chinese woman’s sudden emotional outburst disrupted the order. Some netizens pointed out that the woman might be the popular TikTok influencer known as “Princess Gege.”
On Tuesday, August 18th, videos and photos shared online by witnesses showed a Chinese woman barefoot in the central hall of KLIA T1, loudly yelling and demanding surrender from Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia. She even threatened, “If I die in Malaysia, everyone dies together,” sparking discussions among onlookers from various countries at the scene.
According to witnesses, initially, the woman was live streaming on TikTok with her phone, but a man who appeared to know her took her phone away and tried to pull her away from the scene.
After her phone was taken, the woman visibly lost control of her emotions, continuing to shout barefoot in the airport hall, with one hand up and the other on her hip, repeatedly asking, “Will Singapore surrender? Will Japan surrender…?”
The woman also pointed at surrounding passengers and asked repeatedly, “Don’t any of you have a phone? Don’t you know how to livestream? Are you not Chinese?” She then blurted out the grim statement, “If I die in Malaysia, everyone dies together!”
Witnesses revealed that it took airport staff about 15 minutes to remove the woman from the scene.
Some netizens identified the woman involved as the internet celebrity “Princess Gege” with over a million followers on TikTok.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the Malaysian police confirmed the incident. Initial investigations showed that the woman was not a drug user but had a medical condition that required regular medication.
She had traveled to Malaysia with friends on August 6th and was supposed to return on August 18th. It is suspected that she forgot to take her medication that day, leading to her loss of control.
Following the incident, the woman was handed over to the police by airport security for treatment. She is currently receiving further treatment in a psychiatric ward, and her condition is stable.
The authorities have informed the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia about the incident and urged the public not to engage in behavior that could cause panic at airports or other public places.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first incident involving Chinese travelers losing control at Kuala Lumpur Airport this year.
On May 16th, a Chinese woman, unable to afford a return ticket, attempted to force her way into the airport security area and, when questioned by staff, refused to cooperate and displayed aggressive behavior, leading to her immediate arrest by the police.
Videos captured by witnesses at the scene showed the woman screaming and resisting as police officers tried to remove her. She first crouched down and then lay on the ground. Eventually, four officers had to lift her limbs and carry her away together. The dramatic scene attracted a large crowd of spectators.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman had arrived in Malaysia for a vacation with friends on April 30th but did not have enough money to purchase a return ticket.
