Tai Zhiyuan, a top student, gives up his studies at National Taiwan University to pursue a master’s degree in electrical engineering in the United States.

Taiwanese celebrity Tai Chih-yuan’s 25-year-old son, Tai Jing, who was previously studying in the electrical engineering master’s program at National Taiwan University (NTU), later heeded his professor’s advice and went to the United States for further studies. Tai Chih-yuan attended a bodybuilding competition organized by Xu Jiahao and “Nan Quan Mom” Zhang Jie on the 5th, revealing that his son had just completed his military service and was still deciding on which school to attend.

Nicknamed “Grandpa” by the younger generation, internet sensation Tai Chih-yuan spoke about his son’s recent situation at the bodybuilding competition event yesterday. He disclosed that his son had just finished his military service, saying, “He will fulfill his national duty first and then consider studying in the US.” Tai mentioned that he would support his child no matter what he chooses to do and revealed that his son plans to pursue a master’s degree in electrical engineering.

As for which school his son is most eager to attend, Tai Chih-yuan admitted he is not yet sure and mentioned that he would sponsor his son’s tuition for the first year. He added that his son would have to figure out the rest on his own, stating, “If needed, he can take out a loan.” Tai believes that there’s no rush to start working and that it’s good to explore while young.

According to SET News, Tai Jing is proficient in Japanese and English. After being admitted to the electrical engineering master’s program at NTU, he was headhunted by TSMC before graduation. However, Tai Chih-yuan revealed that due to the encouragement of his NTU professor to study in the US, Tai Jing decided to postpone his studies at NTU to fulfill his military service first and is now preparing to go to the US for further studies.

Having been in the industry for nearly thirty years, Tai Chih-yuan gradually realized that the television industry has declined. Due to a decrease in workload, he fell silent for a while. However, through interactions with his son, he discovered that the internet had become mainstream. He believes that the nature of performance remains the same, even though he initially did not understand many details and faced new challenges every day. By dedicating himself to managing his online channel for three years, he later reached the peak of his career with the video “A Day as an Aide” on “Thursday 4 SuperPlay.”

However, last year, it was reported that the production team behind “Thursday 4 SuperPlay” collectively resigned, with the boss Eric announcing a temporary halt to live broadcasts in July. Producer Chen Baixiang also left the company. But in April of this year, “Thursday 4” announced the resumption of live broadcasts. In response, Tai Chih-yuan revealed that there had been a large turnover in the production team, jokingly saying, “Everyone left! What else can be done?” He stated that he simply focuses on doing his job properly and leaves the rest to the boss to handle.
