“No National Day, Only National Mourning”: Citizens of Multiple Countries Gather to Hold Funeral for the Chinese Communist Party

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s rule, democratic and human rights groups around the world gathered in front of Chinese embassies to hold rallies on the National Day of Mourning on October 1st, condemning the Chinese Communist Party for its decades-long persecution of human rights and calling for an end to its tyranny.

On September 30th local time, various democratic and human rights groups in major cities with Chinese communities in California such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York organized rallies to denounce the Chinese Communist Party’s 75 years of tyranny. Ethnic groups including Tibetans, Uyghurs, Vietnamese, and Filipinos expressed their political demands, condemning the political persecution and human rights violations by the Chinese Communist Party.

According to Voice of America, at the rally participated by democratic organizations such as the China Democratic Education Foundation, Chinese Democratic Party, Humanitarian China, and Asian Women Refugee Art Group, attendees chanted slogans like “No National Day, only Day of Mourning” and “Down with the Communist Party, Down with Xi Jinping,” with many delivering speeches.

One San Francisco resident from Shandong, China, named He Cong, tearfully spoke about how his family members died after being coerced to take the “China Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine.” He accused the Chinese Communist government of persecuting his family, stating, “My family was forced to take the vaccine during the pandemic, and then we refused to take it. We fought back desperately, and then the Chinese government summoned all our family members, and community leaders also summoned my family. Then, my uncle in my family, due to not being able to bear their summons, took the vaccine and died… because of this, I am going to sue the Chinese government for persecuting my family.”

Another rights activist named Gao Zhibin from Shandong took special leave to participate in the protest and explained his opposition to the Communist Party, citing the intentional destruction of his house in 2019. He said, “They deliberately destroyed my house, but they brainwashed the public to call it ‘forced demolition.’ In fact, there is a crime of ‘intentional destruction of property’… They have been brainwashing and deceiving the Chinese people. They are a foreign regime, a puppet government eradicating the Chinese nation.”

On the afternoon of September 29th local time, multi-ethnic and human rights groups in Los Angeles held a protest rally themed “No National Day, only Day of Mourning; Burying the Tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party” in front of the Chinese Consulate General in downtown Los Angeles, with over 200 attendees.

Jie Jianquan, Vice Chairman of the Los Angeles Branch of the National United Front of the China Democratic Party, was one of the organizers of the protest. He told Voice of America, “This year marks the fifth year of our Los Angeles China Democratic Party’s parade. Through the parade, we inform the public of the brutality and bloody rule of the Chinese Communist Party. As long as the Communist government exists, there will never be a democratic future on this land.”

“This protest is a rare democratic activity in recent years. International organizations of Tibetans, Uyghurs, Hongkongers, Taiwanese, Burmese, Vietnamese, and Filipino ethnic groups collaborated to protest against the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party. October 1st is a day of disaster and suffering for us and various ethnic groups around Southeast Asia. As long as the CCP remains, everywhere is threatened and harmed. Our common goal is to overthrow the Chinese (CCP) government, bury the CCP, and convict Xi Jinping!” Jie Jianquan stated.

Members of the China Democratic Party in Los Angeles carried a coffin, played funeral music, and marched around the Chinese Consulate General to bury the Chinese Communist Party. The coffin had the image of Chinese Communist leader Xi Jinping posted on it.

In New York, on the morning of September 30th Eastern Time, dozens of members of the Chinese Democracy and Human Rights Alliance, led by Chen Weijie, Chairman of the New York branch of the China Democratic Front, chanted slogans such as “Overthrow the Communist Party” in front of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, urging an end to the authoritarian rule of the CCP and restoring freedom to the Chinese people. Protesters held up signs in both Chinese and English saying “Arrest the CCP spies in the US” and “CCP Get Out of the US,” shouting slogans like “End the CCP, Restore freedom to China.”

Apart from rallies held in various parts of the US, anti-CCP activities also took place in Canada, the Netherlands, Iceland, Japan, the UK, and other countries.

According to New Tang Dynasty Television, from September 29th to 30th, ethnic groups in Canada gathered in front of Chinese embassies across the country to protest the Chinese Communist Party’s authoritarian rule on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. Protesters waved various flags and shouted slogans denouncing the tyranny.

Jeffrey Lai, Chairman of the Canada Movement, told New Tang Dynasty, “We held a protest demonstration at the entrance of the Chinese Embassy, with about hundreds of people participating from a dozen organizations.”

He stated that the Chinese Communist Party used the 75th anniversary of its establishment to put on a large-scale show to cover up the truth, and they held the Day of Mourning event in front of the Toronto Chinese Embassy to protest for two to three hours.

Lai believes that what the Chinese Communist Party calls “National Day” is a Day of Mourning for the Chinese people with the country being subverted by Communist tyranny. The theme of the entire protest activity was to expose the over 70 years of tyranny by the CCP and its oppression and enslavement of the Chinese people. It’s not just the mainland, but the people in Hong Kong have also suffered greatly from the oppression and destruction by the CCP.
