On Wednesday, June 10th, a joint statement was issued by 22 countries including the United States, European Union nations, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, condemning Iran’s threatening activities towards countries in Europe, America, and Australia.
These 22 countries collectively condemned Iranian entities such as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Intelligence Organization, Quds Force, and Ministry of Intelligence and Security for plotting deadly conspiracies and other malicious activities in Europe, North America, and Australia. These actions include targeting Iranian dissidents, journalists, as well as Jewish and Israeli communities and interests.
“We stand united in resolutely protecting our country and people from these threats,” the statement said. “Iran must immediately cease such activities.”
The statement pointed out that Iran’s security apparatus has long been complicit in collaborating with international and local criminal organizations, making use of their activities despicable.
The 22 countries also condemned Iran’s recent attacks on Jewish communities, Iranian journalists, and American interests across Europe. The Islamic Righteous People’s Movement claimed to have carried out these attacks with the support of intermediaries.
The statement articulated, “Attempting to kill, kidnap, harass, intimidate, or otherwise attack civilians on our soil undermines national sovereignty and international norms. These actions must stop immediately.”
“We highly appreciate the efforts made by countries to combat these (threatening) activities, and are jointly determined to take further measures to stop them,” the statement added.
The 22 countries include the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden.
