Hong Kong Lutheran Church transitional housing handed over to residents, expected to benefit over 800 people.

Hong Kong Lutheran Church’s first large-scale transitional housing project built using “assembled synthetic construction method,” “Lutheran Church Double Fish Court,” has officially opened for occupancy with over a thousand applications received, benefiting an estimated 800 people.

“Lutheran Church Double Fish Court” is located at 160 Pan King Road, Pat Heung, Yuen Long, offering a total of 535 units for families of 1 to 4 individuals. The unit sizes range from 113 to 244 square feet, with rents varying from HK$2,100 to HK$3,000 depending on the unit type. Currently, applicants can enjoy a 15% discount on the first year’s rent, starting at a minimum of HK$1,785 per month, making it the most affordable transitional housing project in Hong Kong.

All units in “Double Fish Court” come equipped with private bathrooms with showers, cooking spaces, and basic facilities such as induction cookers, electric water heaters, exhaust fans, and window-type air conditioners. Residents only need to furnish the units with basic furniture to move in immediately.

The community of “Double Fish Court” also offers comprehensive facilities and services, including self-service laundry rooms, small convenience stores, a leisure square, and social work services. The main entrance of “Double Fish Court” features bus and minibus stops, allowing residents convenient access to public transportation to destinations like Sheung Shui, Kam Sheung Road, Yuen Long, and other areas.

Currently, residents applying for the “Transitional Housing Tenant Special Allowance Pilot Scheme” can receive a one-time special allowance to alleviate economic pressures related to relocation and adapting to the new environment. The allowance varies by household size: HK$3,650 for 1-person households, HK$5,450 for 2-person households, HK$7,100 for 3-person households, and HK$8,450 for 4-person households.
