Swedish freight company Einride’s revenue increases, plans to add 500 Tesla trucks

Swedish freight technology company Einride released its financial report for the first half of 2026 on Tuesday, August 18. The company’s revenue for the first half of the year reached 273 million Swedish Krona (approximately $27 million), showing a 26% year-on-year increase when calculated at a fixed exchange rate.

With business expansion in the United States accelerating, Einride expects the revenue growth rate for the second half of this year to reach between 60% and 73%.

Einride also announced the addition of 500 Tesla electric semi-trailer trucks to its Saga AI intelligent vehicle fleet platform in North America. This will increase the size of its heavy-duty electric truck fleet operating in North America from around 250 vehicles to approximately 750 vehicles. The company describes this as the largest deployment project of Tesla semi-trailer trucks in the world.

These 500 electric semi-trailer trucks will be funded through third-party financing and are expected to be deployed in phases starting from September this year. They will serve Amazon and other North American customers, covering major freight markets in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, and Georgia.

Einride stated that with the deployment of 500 Tesla semi-trailer trucks, the potential long-term annual recurring revenue (ARR) scale for related customer business is estimated to be around $800 million. As these vehicles gradually go into operation, the company plans to convert this potential ARR into actual operating revenue.

In recent years, Einride has been continuously expanding its market presence in the United States and has collaborated with major enterprises like Amazon on electric transportation. The company previously announced plans to deploy 75 electric heavy trucks at five locations in the United States to provide mid-range transportation services for Amazon.

However, rapid expansion comes with higher costs. Einride’s net loss for the first half of the year amounted to 1.12 billion Swedish Krona, higher than the 887 million Swedish Krona in the same period last year. The company indicated that part of the losses is related to non-cash items associated with listing and business consolidation.

Einride aims to further develop its freight technology platform by expanding its electric truck fleet and Saga AI platform, integrating artificial intelligence, electric vehicle fleets, and transport services. The company plans to increase the number of trucks in operation to between 1,500 and 2,000 by 2028 and achieve cash flow breakeven.
