34 Singers Gather on Leo Ku’s Music Show to Raise Funds for Victims of the Horizons 100 Tragic Fire

On November 26th, a massive fire broke out in the Grand Blessings Estate in Tai Po, Hong Kong, resulting in hundreds of casualties and over a thousand households losing their homes. In response to this tragic event, singer Leo Ku’s YouTube channel, “ChillGOOD TV,” released a special episode of their music program “Music Panda” on December 17th featuring 34 singers aiming to bring some comfort to the public.

This special program lasted for 140 minutes, during which the participants sang a total of 35 songs, including their own works as well as songs by other artists. Besides Leo Ku, other singers such as Karen Mok, Janice Vidal, Ivana Wong, Hana Kuk, Fiona Sit, Gin Lee, and Hubert Wu participated in the recording. There were also many up-and-coming artists involved, including Yun Ho Ying, CY Chan, and Yim Ming Hei among others. The program did not include any interviews but focused on the soothing power of music to provide a ray of comfort in the darkness.

All 34 participating singers were dressed in plain or dark casual attire. The program aimed to offer an emotional outlet in a pure and unadulterated way, comforting not only the affected residents but also frontline rescue workers, families of the victims, friends, and citizens concerned about the incident. The message conveyed was “Disasters are heartless, but Hong Kong has love.”

ChillGOOD announced that they would donate all advertising profits from the past two weeks, as well as all audience tips received during the episode, to charitable organizations to continue supporting the victims of the disaster. Many netizens left messages in the program’s comment section to send blessings and encouragement to those affected by the fire, expressing gratitude to the singers. Some viewers even donated to the program, with one viewer from Los Angeles mentioning their participation.

A netizen commented in the message section, “34 singers, 140 minutes, just singing without asking for donations or saying comforting words. Yet, it is even more powerful. This kind of choice is not easy because you chose not the easiest path to touch people but to accompany them with music itself.”
