Several victims disabled by the COVID-19 (CCP virus) vaccine recently went to the Guangdong Province Health Commission and Disease Control Center to demand resolution on medical compensation issues, but no one received them. That evening, they conducted a live broadcast in the reception room, sharing their experiences, only to have the platform ban the broadcast.
On the evening of June 18, Wang Haiyan and other rights activists’ live broadcast was stopped after about 10 minutes due to sensitive words. Although it resumed shortly after, it was quickly banned again. Throughout the live broadcast, police were constantly entering and exiting. A man in the room wearing a mask and claiming to be a staff member with the code “022” ordered the police to take them away and had the police grab them and lock them up in a detention center.
Wang Haiyan said, “We have just embarked on the path of safeguarding rights, which is very difficult, they keep stalling, refusing to see us.”
After receiving the third dose of the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products’ COVID-19 (CCP virus) vaccine in 2022, Wang Haiyan developed CIDP, also known as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. She has been hospitalized for over three years, requiring multiple rescues. She is now completely weak, paralyzed in the lower limbs, muscles twitching, feeling like ants are biting all over her body, and unable to take care of herself.
The assessment result given to Wang Haiyan by the Shenzhen Medical Association’s Adverse Reaction Identification Center for Vaccination Abnormalities was: “This case may be classified as an adverse reaction to vaccination, with a Class II level of severity.”
Prior to falling ill, Wang Haiyan ran a redwood furniture business, but her illness greatly impacted her business. To cover her medical expenses, she sold her house, depleted her savings, and took out a large debt. Over the course of three years, she spent nearly 6 million yuan on medical expenses, all out-of-pocket; now she needs monthly injections of human blood gamma globulin, costing over 100,000 yuan. “I seek justice from them, but no one listens to me,” Wang Haiyan said.
Wang Haiyan’s plight is not an isolated case. At the end of 2019, the COVID-19 (CCP virus) outbreak first emerged in Wuhan, China, and authorities mandated nationwide vaccinations, leading to a large number of people experiencing health problems, including deaths. However, rights activists faced severe repression.
In May and June 2021, Zhao Yajing of Shanxi Province received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation. Over ten days after the second dose, symptoms such as fatigue, swollen and bleeding gums began to appear. On January 28, 2022, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
Zhao Yajing and her husband Wang Hongyi suspected a connection to the vaccine and insisted on going to Beijing to seek compensation. However, Wang Hongyi was sentenced to six months in prison for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” by the Qixian County Court in Shanxi Province after going to Beijing with over ten vaccine victims to report the situation. In April 2025, Zhao Yajing was sentenced to 2 years and 9 months on the same charge. She once fell into despair and lamented painfully, saying, “I don’t want to live anymore.”
A friend of Zhao Yajing, Li Jun, told Epoch Times that after Zhao Yajing was imprisoned, she could not receive timely medical treatment or medication, forcing her to stop the previously effective traditional Chinese medicine. The deterioration of Zhao Yajing’s condition is certain, but the exact situation is unknown to the outside world. “It must be very bad, because she had gene mutation reversion when she went in.” Li Jun said that before going to prison, Zhao Yajing had multiple infections, including lung, intestinal, and urinary tract infections.
On May 14, 2025, the family submitted a request for medical parole to the Qixian County Court, but received no response. What is even more heartbreaking is that local officials attempted to incite Wang Hongyi and Zhao Yajing to divorce in order to prevent them from continuing to seek justice.
Li Jun expressed that these people are too dark, there is no fairness or justice at all, and there is no hope in sight. They are solely bent on destroying this family.
