On the afternoon of April 27th, a shuttle bus at the Daheishan Scenic Area in Dalian, Liaoning Province collided with the electric telescopic gate of the scenic area, resulting in multiple injuries. A tourist captured the thrilling moment of the incident on video.
Several videos circulating online show the shuttle bus involved in the accident, a medium-sized bus with its front severely damaged and windshield shattered. The electric telescopic gate it struck was also deformed. A man wearing a green reflective vest was seen being rushed onto an ambulance.
In the video comments section, a tourist mentioned that there were 17 people on the bus, with 8 of them being colleagues of the commenter.
According to accounts from several tourists, the shuttle bus was ascending a steep cement mountain road when it failed to climb a steep slope at a sharp bend and rolled backward.
One passenger described the scene, saying, “Passengers held their breath, children stopped talking, the interior of the car fell silent for a moment. Fortunately, the driver remained calm and experienced, managing to ascend steadily.”
Another tourist recounted being on the bus with her son at the time, both terrified by the ordeal. Fortunately, the bus eventually safely reached the mountaintop, but the experience was deemed too dangerous. The tourist also suggested that the owner retire old buses to ensure passenger safety.
Visitors who have previously been to the Daheishan Scenic Area mentioned to multiple outlets that this time of year coincides with the blooming season of azaleas, attracting a higher number of tourists to the area.
An informant informed Jimo News that a former colleague who was seated at the front of the shuttle bus during the accident sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized for treatment.
On the evening of the 27th, the Daheishan Scenic Area reported that around 1:30 pm on April 27th, a traffic accident occurred at the entrance of Chaoyang Temple parking lot in Jinku New District, Dalian Daheishan Scenic Area, where the shuttle bus collided with the electric telescopic gate at the entrance of the scenic area. There were a total of 17 people on the bus (the vehicle’s capacity is 19 people). The accident resulted in 2 minor injuries with some passengers sustaining minor abrasions, all of whom have been sent for medical examination and treatment.
