Recently, netizens in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, posted a video report accusing a deputy director of the Civil Affairs Bureau of fabricating documents to arrange jobs for his children and fraudulently receiving over two million RMB in wages, sparking widespread attention online.
On August 18th, a person named He in the video claimed that Wang, the deputy director of the Civil Affairs Bureau in Fengzhen City, used his position to unlawfully handle death certificates for his children, cancel their household registration, re-establish their files, and arrange for his children to work in public institutions under the guise of false military service.
He accused Wang of forging official documents, seals, and committing fraud, alleging that Wang’s children are still receiving wages through deception, accumulating over two million RMB over the years.
On the 20th, officials from the Fengzhen City government responded to the media, stating that they had forwarded the report to the city’s discipline inspection commission and Civil Affairs Bureau for handling. The discipline inspection commission mentioned that the matter is still under investigation. Civil Affairs Bureau staff stated that Wang used to be the deputy director of the bureau but claimed not to be aware of the reported allegations against him.
However, on the same day, a Civil Affairs Bureau staff member replied to another media outlet, stating that Wang had already been expelled from the party and sentenced, therefore, “our unit no longer has him.”
The response from the Civil Affairs Bureau raised skepticism among netizens. Some netizens commented, “This is like a cicada shedding its skin, this Director Wang really knows how to play.” Others shared insider information, with one saying, “In Inner Mongolia, I have seen minors attending junior college, and their resumes have been officially accredited within the system for several years.” A netizen from Hunan added, “We have similar cases here.” Another from Henan remarked, “Even a service attendant can become a deputy township chief.” A netizen from Shanxi said, “It happens everywhere, you need courage.”
Netizens expressed feelings of disbelief, stating, “Unbelievable,” “Overturning public perception,” “Expanding horizons and dropping jaws,” “My mindset is already unshaken.”
