Driver Dragging ICE Agent Vehicle Prosecuted by Federal Government

The United States Acting Attorney Bill Essayli posted on X platform on Tuesday (September 2) that the criminal suspect who towed away Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicles in Los Angeles on August 15 “apparently found it amusing to interfere with immigration enforcement operations,” and “if convicted, he could face up to ten years of federal imprisonment.”

Federal criminal indictment shows that Bobby Nunez was laughing and filming while towing away ICE enforcement vehicles. At that time, enforcement officers were carrying out the arrest of illegal immigrants, with the vehicles flashing lights surrounding the vehicles of the illegal immigrants to prevent their escape.

According to the indictment, Nunez not only towed away ICE vehicles but also used the door of an illegal immigrant’s vehicle to hit an ICE agent. The video released by Essayli shows that after the targeted illegal immigrant was arrested, an ICE agent chased the tow truck on foot, causing chaos at the scene. The video is rapidly circulating on the internet.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) quickly tracked Nunez’s whereabouts using the video posted on TikTok.

The indictment has been approved by United States Magistrate Judge Stephanie Christensen.
