On Thursday, the 16th, he traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, to preside over the ceremony for awarding honorary positions in overseas Chinese affairs to local representatives and to engage in exchanges with the local overseas Chinese community.

Ma Boyuan expressed gratitude to the Phoenix overseas Chinese community for their longstanding dedication and hard work, recognizing the significant contributions of the overseas Chinese community to the local society and Taiwanese community. During this trip, on behalf of relevant units, he sincerely thanked the overseas Chinese community and, through the awarding of appointment letters, recognized the dedication and contributions of honorary personnel in overseas Chinese affairs over the years.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) plans to establish a new office in Phoenix during this year. A new team will be stationed there in the future to cultivate and develop local relationships, working hand in hand with the overseas Chinese community to serve the community and meet its needs. Ma Boyuan stated that before the new office is set up, the Los Angeles office will continue to serve as a solid support for the overseas Chinese community, providing various forms of assistance, and helping the new team smoothly connect to ensure seamless service continuity.

Zhang Peizhen, Director of the Los Angeles Overseas Chinese Center, stated that Ma Boyuan took the opportunity to travel to Phoenix to preside over the ceremony immediately upon his arrival in Los Angeles, demonstrating his commitment to overseas Chinese affairs. This visit allowed honorary personnel in overseas Chinese affairs and representatives of the overseas Chinese community in the Phoenix area to interact and communicate with the new director for the first time, enhancing mutual understanding.

Zhang Peizhen also noted that from this interaction, she has already perceived Ma Boyuan’s work style and leadership characteristics. His visit will have a positive impact on future efforts to promote overseas Chinese affairs work, and it has raised expectations from all sectors for the development of overseas Chinese affairs in Southern California and Arizona.
