Several polling stations in Santa Clara County will accept votes this Saturday

In a report from the election office of Santa Clara County, it was announced that starting this Saturday, the county will open 26 polling stations for voters to cast their ballots. Additionally, from next Saturday onwards, over a hundred polling stations will operate throughout the day.

Officials at the Santa Clara County election office, including Michael Borja, emphasized in an interview that voters should be cautious of unofficial sources of information related to the voting process. If there are any uncertainties or concerns, individuals are encouraged to visit the official website of SCCVOTE.org for accurate information. The election office also provides a hotline for voter assistance, reachable at (408) 299-8683.

In addition to platforms like TikTok, the election office utilizes various other social media channels to disseminate important information and services to voters.

On the day of the election, November 5th, voting will start at 7 a.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Prior to November 5th, polling stations will operate between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Borja mentioned that the election office has already sent out over a million ballots to voters in Santa Clara County. Voters choosing to vote by mail are advised to ensure that the postmark on their ballot does not exceed November 5th and that it reaches the election office within seven days.

Furthermore, voters opting to mail their ballots on election day should verify the last collection time of the mailbox to avoid depositing their ballot after the final pickup of the day.

Apart from these instructions, the Santa Clara County election office offers specialized mail-in ballot services for voters residing in remote areas. While this service was previously reserved for overseas residents and military personnel on duty, it is now available to the general public. Those in need of this service can visit the election office website to receive their ballot, print it out upon completion, and then either mail or fax it back to the election office.

Beginning from this Saturday, more polling stations and ballot drop-off boxes will be operational for voters in Santa Clara County. The election office has been actively receiving votes from the public since October 7th, in alignment with the 2020 voting law. However, this early voting was limited to individuals physically going to the election office located at 1555 Berger Drive, BLDG. #2, San Jose, CA 95112.

At the Santa Clara County election office, a steady stream of voters can be seen entering and leaving, eager to participate in the 2024 US election.
