NASA Astronauts Bid Farewell to Space Station and Close Hatch.

On December 8th, NASA astronaut Jonny Kim bid farewell to the International Space Station (ISS) and closed the hatch of the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft. New Tang Dynasty and Epoch Times conducted live streaming with real-time Chinese subtitles translation.

After working on the International Space Station for eight months, astronaut Jonny Kim is preparing to return to Earth. Watch his farewell speech and footage of him boarding the Soyuz spacecraft for the journey back to Earth. The hatch is scheduled to close at 5:15 pm Eastern Time on December 8th (22:15 UTC), with the spacecraft set to undock from the ISS at 8:41 pm Eastern Time (01:41 UTC on December 9th).

Jonny Kim arrived at the International Space Station in April 2025 as a member of the 73rd expedition team. During his time there, he conducted research and activities to prepare for future space missions and benefit people on Earth. Some of his research includes studying bioprinting tissues in microgravity environments and developing robotic assistive devices for space exploration.
