Fires Break Out in Succession in Sichuan and Zhejiang, Flames Soar at the Scene

Recently, there have been frequent fires in various parts of China. On November 29, a major fire broke out in a logistics warehouse in Bali Zhuang, Chenghua District, Chengdu, Sichuan. The following day, another fire occurred on the top floor of an industrial park in Wenling, Taizhou, Zhejiang. Netizens have been expressing their concerns, questioning why there are so many fires happening everywhere.

Videos shared by netizens showed that the fire at the logistics warehouse in Chengdu broke out around 5 p.m. on November 29. The footage revealed the intense flames roaring with thick smoke billowing into the sky. The factory building was reduced to just a steel frame structure, with occasional sounds of explosions heard.

On the evening of November 29, the Chenghua District Fire and Rescue Brigade in Chengdu reported that at 17:02 on the 29th, they received a report of a fire at a warehouse on Zhonghuan Road, Erxiangqiao West Road in Chenghua District. The flames were extinguished by 17:45, and there were no casualties reported at the scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

On November 30, a witness named Ms. Chen told “Urban Scene” that the location of the fire in Chengdu was near the C exit of Bali Zhuang Metro Station. Although the flames were put out that evening, the surrounding traffic was still restricted.

In another video shared by netizens in Taizhou, Zhejiang, it was reported that on the afternoon of November 30, a major fire broke out at the Xialing Shoe Industry Park in Wenling, Taizhou. The video showed black smoke billowing from the rooftop of a building, with many onlookers gathering nearby.

Many netizens left comments on the videos, with one saying, “I heard the fire truck sirens around three o’clock.” Another commented, “I feel like I can smell a foul odor even at home.” One expressed relief, “It’s fortunate it was on the top floor; if it were on the lower levels, the people upstairs would be in trouble.”

On the same day, personnel from the Wenling City Fire and Rescue Brigade responded to “Urban Scene,” stating that the fire was extinguished around 3:50 p.m., causing only damage to the rooftop without any casualties. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The consecutive fires have sparked concern online. Many netizens have been wondering, “What’s been happening recently?” “Why are there fires everywhere?” “There have been so many big fires in various places these days.” “As we enter the Year of the Horse and Goat according to the Chinese zodiac, is this a fiery start from the south to the north?”
