Taiwanese F-16V captures footage of Chinese military exercise

In response to the Chinese Communist Party’s military exercises around Taiwan, the land, sea, and air forces of Taiwan are on high alert. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released photos of F-16 jets taking off and Air Force P-3C anti-submarine aircraft conducting surveillance missions as part of the airborne defense readiness.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated today that from 6 a.m. on the 23rd to 6 a.m. today, a total of 49 incidents of Chinese aircraft (including 35 instances of crossing the median line in the strait and entering the southwestern airspace), 19 Chinese vessels, and 7 Chinese Coast Guard ships have been detected operating near the Taiwan Strait.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China emphasized that the military is closely monitoring and responding with deployment of mission aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems.

The Chinese military claimed that the Eastern Theater Command organized forces from the land, sea, air, and rocket forces to conduct the “Joint Sword-2024A” exercise near Taiwan and the surrounding Kinmen islands from 7:45 a.m. on the 23rd to the 24th.

On the second day of the Chinese military exercises, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released photos of F-16 jets taking off, Chinese military vessels, as well as images of the Taiwan military and Coast Guard ships carrying out missions. They also disclosed photos of the Air Force P-3C anti-submarine aircraft conducting surveillance missions on Chinese ships including the Jiangkai II-class frigate, Luyang III-class missile destroyer, and Chinese Coast Guard ships. Photos provided by the Taiwan Air Force Command showed that F-16V (Block 20) jets were equipped with AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (referred to as “missiles” in Taiwan) conducting Combat Air Patrol (CAP) missions.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China issued a press release at 8 p.m. on the 23rd, reporting that starting from 7:20 a.m., various types of Chinese main and support aircraft, including Su-30, J-16, and KJ-500 planes, have been observed engaging in maritime activities for a total of 49 incidents. Among these, 35 instances crossed the median line and extended line, entering the airspace in the northern, central, and southwestern regions, in coordination with the Chinese fleet conducting the “Joint Sword-2024A” military exercises. The Taiwan military has been closely monitoring through joint surveillance means and deploying mission aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems in response.
