Frequent incidents of express delivery vehicles catching fire have been happening in various parts of China. The latest one occurred near Quannan Toll Station in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, where a semi-trailer carrying 20 tons of express packages suddenly burst into flames, leading to the packages of 20 tons being engulfed in the fire.
The scene showed a truck parked by the roadside, billowing thick smoke from its compartment straight into the air, with a large number of packages piled on the ground underneath the truck.
According to reports on September 26, the fire accident happened on September 23, when the driver discovered the fire, he immediately stopped the vehicle, separated the burning compartment, and then called emergency services to report the incident.
Firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving the call and took over an hour to extinguish the flames completely, but nearly half of the goods on the truck were destroyed by the fire, leading to the 20 tons of express packages being consumed by the flames. After the fire was put out, the scene was chaotic and in disarray.
It is understood that the truck was carrying express packages from Ganzhou to Guangzhou.
On September 18, a truck caught fire in Kunming, Yunnan, resulting in over 90% of the more than ten tons of express packages on board being burnt.
On June 29, Ganzhou Fire Department in Jiangxi also reported that recently a fire broke out on an express delivery truck heading towards Ganzhou from Xingguo on the Nanshao Expressway. Thick smoke filled the compartment.
On June 16, a vehicle carrying express goods caught fire on the Xunwu section in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, with thick black smoke billowing at the scene.
On March 18, on a section of the highway in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, a delivery truck caught fire, prompting the arrival of an excavator to break the compartment to unload the goods. After more than two hours of rescue efforts, the blaze was finally extinguished.
On January 28, a transport vehicle carrying 17 tons of express packages overturned and caught fire in Tongren, Guizhou, resulting in a large quantity of express goods being engulfed by the flames.
In the early hours of January 12, at the exit of a high-speed tunnel in Jinzhong, Shanxi, a semi-trailer logistics vehicle carrying about ten thousand express packages caught fire, with approximately one-third of the packages being consumed by the fire.
