On November 19, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the Chinese Communist Party reported that Wang Yilin, former Party Secretary and Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation, was suspected of taking bribes. After an investigation by the National Supervisory Commission, the case has been concluded, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ordos City Procuratorate has been designated to review and prosecute. Recently, the prosecutor has filed a lawsuit with the Intermediate People’s Court of Ordos City.
The prosecution accuses Wang Yilin of using his positions as Director of the Xinjiang Oil Exploration and Development Institute, Deputy Director of the Xinjiang Oil Administration, General Manager of the Xinjiang Oilfield Branch of CNPC, Vice President of CNPC, Chairman of CNOOC Ltd., Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation, and other positions to provide convenience for others to seek benefits, accepting significant amounts of money and property. He should be held criminally responsible for the crime of bribery.
