On the evening of the 18th, Taiwanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tan Chung-guang, was invited to attend the “54th National Day Celebration of the Sultanate of Oman” held at the Taipei Commercial Office of the Sultanate of Oman. In his speech, Tan Chung-guang expressed that Taiwan and Oman will continue to deepen and broaden their exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
Taiwanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tan Chung-guang, stated in his speech that the Sultanate of Oman is located at the intersection of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, maintaining close cooperation with various countries. In recent years, Oman and Taiwan have had increasingly close economic, cultural, and educational cooperation. In terms of trade, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached $2.5 billion last year. In exploring opportunities related to Oman’s “2040 Vision,” the Taiwanese business community sent a trade delegation to Oman in June this year, yielding fruitful results.
Regarding cultural and educational exchanges, Tan Chung-guang mentioned that in October, professors from several Taiwanese universities participated in the “Oman Youth Forum,” discussing semiconductor and artificial intelligence topics with Omani counterparts, receiving high praise. Moreover, Oman’s diverse landscapes make it a popular tourist destination. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both countries, exchanges and cooperation in relevant fields will continue to deepen and expand.
During his speech, Director Mohammed Al Baraami of the Taipei Commercial Office of the Sultanate of Oman expressed special thanks to Deputy Minister Tan for attending. He stated that Oman has been focusing on promoting investment in sectors ranging from manufacturing and green economy to sustainable tourism, showcasing its potential to attract global investors.
When introducing the blueprint of Oman’s “2040 Vision,” Mohammed Al Baraami emphasized the crucial role of youth and expressed confidence that with mutual efforts, cultural and economic cooperation between Oman and Taiwan will further deepen, envisioning continuous exchanges and interactions between the two peoples.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan noted that the event was attended by over 300 participants from the political, business, and diplomatic sectors, creating a lively atmosphere. After speeches by Deputy Minister Tan and Director Mohammed Al Baraami, they jointly cut a celebratory national day cake, conveying blessings for the enduring friendship between Taiwan and Oman.
