Commemoration of June Fourth: Rare Hailstorm Falls Like Snow in Hebei

Today (June 4th) marks the 37th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre known as “Six-Four” that took place in Beijing, China in 1989. For 37 years, the Chinese Communist Party has been covering up the truth of the events of that year. On the 4th, during the day, rare strong winds and hail were reported in Hebei province, near Beijing. Footage showed ice accumulating like snow, prompting netizens to comment about the unusual weather conditions and suggesting a connection with the tragic historical event.

According to reports from the “The Beijing News,” on June 4th, Guan County in Hebei province experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and hail. Several videos showed the dense hail hitting the ground sounding like firecrackers. The local meteorological station had issued an orange hail warning earlier for Guan County, predicting hail in all townships in the area. Meteorological staff in Guan County stated that hail and rain continued on the 4th and were expected to persist into the night.

At 1:18 pm on June 4th, the Hebei Provincial Meteorological Station issued an orange hail warning signal, predicting that local areas in Baoding, Xiong’an New District, Langfang, Shijiazhuang, Hengshui, and northern Xingtai would be affected by hail within the next 6 hours.

Videos depicted hailstones in some areas as large as eggs, falling densely along with thunderstorms, strong winds, and short-term heavy rainfall. Netizens described the sound of dense hail hitting the ground as fireworks and observed that in some places, the ice accumulation looked like snow, causing damage to leaves on trees and making roads impassable.

“Experience this – in Hebei, temperatures were in the 30s one second, and the next, it’s winter.”

“In Guan County, it’s like snowing, the hailstones here are nothing compared to what just fell in Tianjin.”

Some netizens commented, “Beijing is also experiencing it.” “The crops have been ruined.”

Related videos were shared on overseas platforms, with users stating, “On June 4th, there is injustice.” “When will the breeze of freedom blow across this land plagued by numerous calamities?”

The “June Fourth Incident,” also known as the 1989 Democratic Movement, refers to the democratic protest movement initiated by Chinese university students in mid-April 1989, which lasted nearly two months, spreading from Beijing’s Tiananmen Square throughout China. In the early hours of June 4th, the Chinese Communist Party mobilized the military and police to carry out a massacre on unarmed young students and citizens on Tiananmen Square. According to unofficial estimates, the CCP shot and killed several thousand to tens of thousands of people. This event is also known as the “Tiananmen Square Massacre by the Communist Party.”
