Australian New South Wales State Parliamentarians Visit Taiwan to Deepen Bilateral Relations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has expressed a warm welcome to the bipartisan delegation from the State of New South Wales, Australia, for their visit to Taiwan to enhance bilateral relations.

The delegation from New South Wales includes Anna Watson, Deputy Secretary for Roads and Regional Transport, and Natasha Maclaren-Jones, Shadow Minister for Families and Communities, who are visiting Taiwan from the 12th to the 17th of this month. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sincerely welcomes their visit.

During their stay in Taiwan, the visiting officials will meet with relevant government officials of the Republic of China to exchange views on issues of mutual concern and regional developments. They will also gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s achievements in national development, cross-strait affairs, healthcare, labor, technology, and transportation through visits, exploring potential areas of cooperation between Taiwan and New South Wales to strengthen bilateral relations, especially the friendship with the state of New South Wales.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Australia is an important partner for Taiwan in the Indo-Pacific region, sharing common values of freedom, democracy, and actively engaging with Taiwan in economic, trade, cultural, technology, energy, and societal resilience exchanges. The ministry looks forward to building upon the existing solid foundation to further enhance the friendship between Taiwan and Australia, working together to promote peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
