On August 4th, the streaming platform “Gan Jing World” participated in two “National Night Out” events held by the 49th Precinct of the Bronx Police Department and the Seventh Police Service Area (PSA 7), introducing residents to healthy and clean online content and traditional values, adding positive energy to the community event of police-community interaction.
The event at the 49th Precinct resembled a lively community carnival. Music echoed through the venue, with long lines forming in front of large inflatable amusement facilities; various booths offered free food, refreshing drinks, and a variety of gifts, providing residents with safety tips, health services, and other community information relevant to daily life.
Children ran around in the crowd, holding ice cream and balloons, while parents navigated between booths of law enforcement, government agencies, elected officials’ offices, community organizations, and businesses, engaging in interactive games and gathering information. Residents of different ethnicities and ages stepped out of their homes, coming together in music, food, and laughter, creating an atmosphere of joy in police-community interaction at the event.
Officer Fortunato from the 49th Precinct mentioned that family, friends, and community members gathered at the event, enjoying the good times together. He noted the happy atmosphere with music and food where everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Amid their usual duty of maintaining public safety, officers took a night off to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of police-community interaction, chatting and taking pictures with residents. Chief Julieann Stapleton of the 49th Precinct even jokingly told reporters, “Make sure you let everyone know that the 49th Precinct is the best precinct in the entire NYPD!” eliciting laughter from those around her.
During the event, State Senator Gustavo Rivera presented commendations to Officers Steinberg, Perez, and Fortunato for their outstanding service to the community. Fortunato was recognized as the “Cop of the Month” for his role in seizing firearms and drugs on the streets, stating, “We work hard to maintain community safety, and I love my job.”
The booth of Gan Jing World was one of the most popular spots at the event. Colorful and beautifully crafted bookmarks attracted parents and children to learn about the traditional values advocated by the platform. Handmade lotus flowers with the universal values of “Truth, Compassion, Tolerance” were particularly popular, with residents taking them home for good luck while children lined up eagerly for balloons nearby.
Soon, balloons with the “Gan Jing World” logo floated among the crowd. Children joyfully ran around the venue with balloons in hand, adding a dynamic splash of color to the event as the colorful balloons swayed amidst the crowd.
Staff members introduced visitors to clean and healthy content provided by Gan Jing World, promising to avoid addictive recommendation algorithms and offer a safe online space that combines entertainment and educational value for families in the community. Videos like “Unrestricted Warfare” and “Attack on America” on the platform also drew interest, leading to engaging discussions and exchanges among numerous residents at the booth.
On the same day, Gan Jing World also participated in the “National Night Out” event hosted by the Seventh Police Service Area at the Melrose Houses. PSA 7 is primarily responsible for public housing security in the 40th and 42nd Precincts, with this event location situated within the jurisdiction of the 40th Precinct, spanning from East 153rd Street to East 155th Street.
Gan Jing World has been setting up booths at this event for several consecutive years. Last year, organizers of other community activities visited the booth for interactions and extended invitations for future collaborations. Through a small booth, the concept of “Kindness is Cool” and positive energy spread throughout the community.
