Jiang Tao Secludes for Half a Month and Dramatically Loses Weight, Returning with a V-shaped Face, Attracting Attention

The idol boy group MIRROR member Jiang Tao, who was crowned as the “top star in Hong Kong,” made headlines on June 24th when he accidentally fell into the sea in Sai Wan, attracting widespread attention. He later attended a press conference to clarify the incident and then flew to Paris that same night to continue working. After returning to Hong Kong, he secluded himself for half a month and recently shared a video clip of him participating in an event with his teammates. Surprisingly, Jiang Tao appears to have slimmed down significantly, with his V-shaped face making a comeback, much to the delight of many fans.

Since the sea accident, Jiang Tao only stayed in the hospital for one night before diving back into work. On the second day of the incident (June 25th), he resumed his work routine, even flying to Paris that same evening to attend Fashion Week. Despite concerns from the public about his well-being, Jiang Tao announced on July 15th that he would take a half-month break to prepare for a new song, secluding himself to focus on his upcoming projects.

After staying out of the public eye for a while, Jiang Tao recently took the initiative to share photos of his activities after his seclusion on Instagram. He attended an event with his MIRROR teammates — Luk Han Ting, Law Kyun On Yi, and Lee Chun Kit — and wrote, “Feeling a bit nervous ending the seclusion days,” at the end of the clip, indicating his determination to continue working hard and lose weight persistently.

In the video clip, the most surprising transformation was Jiang Tao’s apparent successful weight loss, seeming to have shed several pounds. As he sat signing autographs for fans, his V-shaped face was prominently defined, his jawline sharp, and his overall appearance could be described as reaching its peak, earning him praises from a large number of fans.

In April of this year, the Hong Kong entertainment industry stirred up a “top star war,” drawing widespread attention. Director Wang Jing, 69, stirred up controversy on April 11th by calling out Jiang Tao on Weibo for being “overweight” and questioning his status as the top star, even going as far as telling Jiang Tao to “get out of the entertainment industry.” This provoking post quickly went viral, with netizens gossiping and questioning whether this was a case of the older generation disapproving the newer one. In response, Jiang Tao posted a short video on Threads with the caption “得啖笑 (dē dān xiào)” meaning “ridiculous,” seemingly addressing Wang Jing’s insults.

At 26 years old, Jiang Tao seems to have anticipated the reactions from the public following his weight loss transformation. In the video, he wrote, “Nothing else, just continue to lose weight!” showcasing his determination.

A netizen shared this video clip of Jiang Tao to social media platforms in mainland China, garnering praises from Chinese netizens who commented, “Jiang Tao has gotten significantly more handsome after losing weight,” with many expressing, “He’s becoming more attractive by the moment, overshadowing his previous self.”
