Acting ICE Deputy Director appointed as Acting Chief of Staff by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

On Thursday, January 15, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of the United States issued an announcement appointing Mr. Charles Wall as the Deputy Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as announced by Secretary Kristi Noem.

Secretary Noem stated that Mr. Charles Wall will immediately assume the position of Deputy Director of ICE. She highlighted Wall’s crucial role as the Chief Legal Counsel for ICE over the past year, assisting in the apprehension and deportation of the most dangerous illegal immigrants.

During his tenure as ICE’s Chief Legal Counsel, Wall managed a team of over 3,500 lawyers and support staff, overseeing deportation procedures on behalf of DHS and providing accurate, timely, and comprehensive legal advice to senior officials and staff within the organization.

Wall has been with ICE since 2012, previously serving as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel for ICE in New Orleans and Assistant Chief Legal Counsel for the state of Louisiana. Prior to his roles in ICE, from 2009 to 2012, he worked as a prosecutor and senior assistant district attorney at the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, bringing numerous major felony charges against dangerous violent criminals.

His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of New Orleans and a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School. Wall is recognized as a forward-thinking and strategically-minded legal professional, with a deep understanding of the importance of prioritizing the deportation of individuals such as murderers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, and terrorists.

This appointment reflects the ongoing efforts by the DHS to strengthen enforcement measures and uphold national security policies related to immigration and customs enforcement. It signifies a continuation of the department’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the American people.
