The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been issuing wanted notices consecutively. Following the pursuit of Democratic Progressive Party legislator Shen Boyang, they are now chasing after Taiwanese internet influencers Ba Jiong and Minnan Wolf (Chen Baiyuan). CCTV even produced a special video for this purpose. Ba Jiong stated that in the CCTV video, there appears a blurred image of a boy from Hebei who called Xi Jinping a dictator, confirming that this 15-year-old boy has disappeared.
On November 14th, CCTV’s program “Online Rule of Law” aired a special episode criticizing Ba Jiong (Wen Ziyu) and “Minnan Wolf” (Chen Baiyuan) for their so-called “Taiwanese independence” activities, in cooperation with the Public Security Bureau of Quanzhou City in Fujian Province.
At the 9:23 minute mark of the video, there is a blurred image of a person. The narrator, Vice President of the People’s Public Security University Li Yuhua, stated, “He (Ba Jiong) deceived minors to film videos inciting the splitting of the country and released corresponding images.”
On the 16th, Ba Jiong released a video quoting the above segment, saying, “The 15-year-old boy from Hebei, China, who sought my help has indeed been confirmed by CCTV to have disappeared, and his crime was insulting Xi Jinping by calling him a dictator, leading to his disappearance.”
Ba Jiong mentioned that through the production of the video targeting him, the CCP indirectly confirmed the disappearance of this 15-year-old boy and blamed the disappearance process on his incitement.
On July 10th, Hebei teenager Zhang Qiyuan was summoned by the local police station after opposing Xi Jinping in a live broadcast, where he made a video statement declaring that he would not commit suicide or compromise. Zhang Qiyuan disappeared thereafter.
On July 12th, Zhang Qiyuan sent a video seeking help from Ba Jiong, stating that he was at home, saying, “If I don’t respond to your messages within 24 hours, it means that the national security, Internet Information Office, or local police are looking for (me).”
He filmed some scenes near his home, saying, “I am in China, openly opposing Xi Jinping.”
In a brief live video clip of about 5 seconds, the host wearing a black mask was asked by Zhang Qiyuan, “Do you think Xi is a dictator?”
Zhang Qiyuan emphasized, “Expressing whether Xi Jinping is a dictator in Seleray’s live stream is my own idea. If you see my so-called confession on TV within the wall, it’s fake, and not true.”
In a statement, Zhang Qiyuan said, “I, Zhang Qiyuan, declare that I will not commit suicide or be killed. I will go to Dongfeng Police Station in Baoding City at 5 p.m. today, and this video can prove it.”
Zhang Qiyuan authorized Ba Jiong to release this video, emphasizing, “This is due to threats I have received. Ba Jiong, you can use this video to challenge them.”
CCTV’s recent video criticizing Ba Jiong featured Zhang Qiyuan, sparking discussions on social media:
“At 15, he is a minor and should be protected according to China’s Law on the Protection of Minors. Just because he insulted Xi Jinping, the protection for minors seems to fail selectively. There are many underage crimes in China every year, all protected by the Law on the Protection of Minors, especially in cases of child bullying, such as the Jiangyou event in Sichuan.”
Many netizens left comments on Ba Jiong’s channel program:
“If you insult a dictator, you will disappear, this is a true dictatorship country.” “This perfectly proves that Xi is a dictator.” “How to distinguish whether someone is a dictator? The biggest characteristic of a dictator is the ability to arrest and kill without any legal responsibility.” “Resisting within the wall truly requires great courage, I hope this boy in Taiwan stays safe, my prayers go out to him. Suddenly feeling very sad.” “He is a 15-year-old hero. After the fall of the evil party, we must remember these heroes.”
