PLA’s 50 warships provocatively approach Taiwan; Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan: closely monitoring and responding.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) stated that from 6 a.m. on the 2nd until 6 a.m. today (the 3rd), a total of 50 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft and vessels have been continuously active near the Taiwan Strait, and the Taiwanese military is closely monitoring and responding to the situation.

Furthermore, the Ministry of National Defense announced on the 2nd that the PLA would launch a carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center at 5:35 p.m. today, headed towards the western Pacific, passing through Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

Today, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China revealed the dynamics of PLA activities in the airspace near the Taiwan Strait. From 6 a.m. on the 2nd to 6 a.m. today, a total of 41 PLA aircraft sorties (including 30 instances crossing the median line of the strait entering airspace in the north, central, southwest, and eastern regions) and 9 PLA vessels were detected, totaling 50 PLA aircraft and vessels remaining active near the Taiwan Strait.

According to an illustrative map of PLA activities near the Taiwan Strait released by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China today, on the 2nd from 9:45 a.m. to 9:10 p.m., 12 PLA main and support aircraft were spotted in the southwest airspace of Taiwan; additionally, from 10:10 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., 2 PLA support aircraft were detected north of Taiwan’s ADIZ in the northern airspace of Taiwan.

From 5:05 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. on the 2nd, 26 PLA main fighter jets and drones were observed in the airspace of the Taiwan Strait, with 17 instances crossing the median line of the strait. Moreover, from 6:05 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. on the 2nd, 1 drone was spotted in the eastern airspace of Taiwan.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China emphasized that the Taiwanese military is utilizing mission aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the situation.
