“List Goes Viral as Long as He is on Stage,” Media Staff Remind Taiwanese.

Recently, a list titled “As Long as He is Still in Power” has been circulating on the internet, listing the comprehensive harm caused by Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping since taking office, sparking discussions. Senior media figure Shibata Akio shared on social media, bluntly stating it is best “not to deal with him (Xi)” and questioning why there are still people in Taiwan “eager to meet him.”

X account “New Highland” recently published a post with the title “How Great is Xi Jinping’s Harm?” stating that Xi Jinping has been in power for over 13 years, and netizens have compiled a 30-point long list titled “As Long as He is still in power,” depicting a doomsday scenario of political, economic, and societal regression under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party.

The article mentioned that this list has been circulating on the internet for many years, and as of February 2026, many of the predictions in the list are no longer hypothetical but are becoming a reality or accelerating trends.

The article evaluates the extent of harm Xi Jinping has caused to China, including extreme power centralization and institutional regression (harm: extremely high and still worsening); deep economic and livelihood crises (harm: extremely high, may reach a tipping point this year); societal control and regression in human rights (harm: systematic and irreversible); diplomatic isolation and risk of war (harm: moderate to high, but with great destructive power), etc., pointing out that Xi Jinping’s harm has now escalated from “potential risk” to a “systemic existential threat.”

Senior media figure Shibata Akio reposted this list on February 28th, stating that this list of “As Long as He is Still in Power” itemizes the various harms Xi Jinping has caused to China. The list is very specific and is shared for everyone’s reference. “There are people in Taiwan eager to meet him, but I believe it is still best not to engage with him.”

Many comments suggest that simply replacing Xi is not enough.

Zhang Xiancheng: “What will happen if someone else takes over in China as long as the Communist Party is still in power?”

Scallion Pancake: “It makes more sense if you replace him with CCP. Even if it’s not Chairman Xi, as long as the CCP remains a one-party dictatorship, this country will not prosper.”

Stealing Joy (Don’t Forget Peng Zaizhou): “Not profound enough. It should be: as long as the Chinese Communist Party remains in power, the next ‘him’ will come back to power.”

Full of Talent but Meets the Lord: “To be honest, as long as the Communist Party remains in power, even without Xi Jinping, there will be Wang Jinping and Li Jinping; this party and system have decayed to the core.”

However, some viewpoints have previously suggested that Xi Jinping is tied to the fate of the Chinese Communist Party and is the chief accelerator of the party’s demise.

Commentator Du Zheng wrote in a Taiwanese media article that in recent years, the Chinese Communist Party has been in turmoil, deeply entrenched in economic crises, with increasing calls at home and abroad for the CCP to be extinguished. Due to their numerous wrongdoings, the troubles of the CCP regime have been mounting. This sinking ship can no longer withstand the turmoil. Time is short, and once Xi Jinping steps down, he will take down with him the entire CCP regime.
