South Korean actors Park Bo-gum and Park So-dam starring in the movie “Wonderland” are set to be released in South Korea. SEVENTEEN member Hoshi previously shared his thoughts in a lengthy post after an early screening, expressing his feelings. In response, Park Bo-gum discussed the matter in an interview on the 4th, revealing that he invited Hoshi to watch the movie with the hope of giving him comfort.
The movie “Wonderland” tells the story of a future where humans develop artificial intelligence to recreate the images of the deceased in a virtual world called “Wonderland.” Park Bo-gum plays the male lead who becomes a vegetable after an accident, and Park So-dam, portraying his girlfriend, uses the “Wonderland” video call service to reunite with him.
After receiving Park Bo-gum’s invitation to attend the movie’s premiere, SEVENTEEN member Hoshi wrote a lengthy post on his official Instagram in the early hours of the 3rd. He uploaded a photo of SEVENTEEN members with Park Bo-gum and a picture of him with his late entertainment industry friend, Wen Bin, sharing his thoughts after watching “Wonderland.”
Hoshi mentioned in his post, “What if we could keep the precious parts of a person but slightly reduce the sorrow of parting? Even if it’s just an illusion. Because what’s left is limited, memories will gradually be forgotten and fade away.” He also pondered whether, through artificial intelligence, “regardless of what form we use to experience (loved ones), can the feeling of despair be slightly reduced? Imagining these hazily, back to reality, regrets hidden in the heart surged up.”
Furthermore, Hoshi expressed, “Recently, I have a deeper appreciation for the warmth and importance of people. Although I can’t be a good person in everyone’s eyes, I have a strong desire to be seen as a good person in the eyes of those who allow me to live in this world. Looking at my senior (Park Bo-gum), I think more and more like this. While I can’t say (Park Bo-gum) is a very close senior to me, and the movie I happened to watch, I don’t know why it made me talk so much, but for me, this is a movie with a lasting impact.”

In response, Park Bo-gum not only liked the article but also expressed gratitude in an interview on the 4th, stating, “It’s great to have invited Hoshi to the screening. I’m very thankful he came to watch. The article he uploaded really articulates everything we wanted to express in our movie. He wrote it really well. Instead of me adding more words, Hoshi’s article itself conveys everything about this movie. So I’m very thankful to him.”
Park Bo-gum added, “In a way, I invited him hoping he could find some solace, that was my intention. Even though I hesitated a bit because of that, I also participated in this work with the hope of bringing strength to those in pain and sorrow of parting. This intention seems to have been conveyed, which is also good.”
