Over 60,000 Trek bicycles recalled due to brake failure.

According to the announcement issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday, November 13, Trek company has announced a recall of approximately 68,000 Trek and Electra brand bicycles. These bicycles are equipped with a Coaster Brake device, but this mechanical device may not function properly, leading to riders losing control and posing a collision hazard.

As of now, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue.

The recalled bicycles include various color options such as red, flamingo pink, and deep water blue.

The CPSC stated that these recalled bicycles were sold between August 2023 and September 2025 at Trek and Electra authorized retailers in physical stores and online, as well as on Trek.com throughout the United States. The bicycles were priced between $300 and $660, while replacement wheels were priced between $66 and $77.

The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the recalled bicycles and replacement wheels equipped with the Coaster Brake device and to contact authorized Trek or Electra dealers for free repairs.
