Recently, thousands of Crayola products have been recalled from art supply store Michaels and removed from their website. The brand is known for producing children’s art supplies such as crayons, colored pencils, and markers, representing color, fun, quality, and creativity.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on December 4, 2025, that 24-piece CreateOn Crayola brand pip-Cubes are being recalled. The reason behind this recall is that the magnets contained in the magnetic blocks may become loose and detach, posing a danger if ingested by children.
The recall notice indicates that approximately 9,400 products are being recalled due to the risk of children ingesting them. If powerful magnets are swallowed, they may attract each other or other metal objects and could “become stuck in the digestive system,” potentially causing “intestinal perforation, intestinal twisting and/or intestinal blockage, leading to sepsis, and even death.”
The affected products include:
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled magnetic blocks, remove them from children’s reach, and contact CreateOn for a replacement set. The company will provide prepaid postage labels for consumers to return the affected products.
The brightly colored blocks include red, green, blue, and yellow. The sparkly blocks include purple, pink, blue, and green, and have glitter particles. Each block features the “Crayola” logo on the left side. The model/UPC barcode of the recalled blocks is located on the bottom of the product packaging.
The 24-piece sets were sold in Michaels physical stores across the United States and on Michaels.com for around $20. The 27-piece sets were sold on Amazon.com for approximately $35. The sales period for all sets was from May 2025 to July 2025.
