Overseas Chinese Democratic Party members hold “End the CCP dictatorship” rally.

On June 22, overseas members of the China Democracy Party Alliance held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles to “End the CCP’s Dictatorship and Tyranny”. Activists and individuals concerned about human rights and democracy in China from various parts of the United States participated in this event, showing support for their compatriots who have suffered imprisonment, torture, exile, and even sacrificed their lives under the high-pressure rule of the Chinese Communist Party.

At the rally, participants held banners with slogans such as “Various regions unite to end the CCP’s tyranny” and “Commending the 27-year commitment of the China Democracy Party to promoting democracy”. They also displayed images of prominent China Democracy Party members including Wang Bingzhang, Qin Yongmin, and Xu Guang, and held a moment of silence. Two China Democracy Party members, Zhu Li and Kong Beibei, who have faced transnational suppression, shared their personal experiences, urging the international community to continue monitoring China’s human rights situation and support the Chinese people in their pursuit of freedom and democracy.

Following this, representatives of the China Democracy Party took turns to read out the stories and current situation of several key members, including Xu Guang, Wang Bingzhang, Qin Yongmin, Lü Gengsong, Zhu Yufu, Chen Shuqing, Wang Youcai, Xu Wenli, Wen Qifeng, Xue Mingkai, and others. These individuals have either been long imprisoned and tortured by the CCP for advocating for democratization in China or have been forced into exile and have not been able to return home.

Among them, Dr. Wang Bingzhang was lured back to China, secretly tried, and has been detained for over twenty years; Qin Yongmin has been imprisoned multiple times, with cumulative sentences totalling over thirty years; Zhu Yufu was sentenced to seven years in prison for just a line of poetry; while Lü Gengsong, Chen Shuqing, Wang Youcai, and others have suffered physical and mental torment repeatedly while in prison.

The organizer of the event, the head of the China Democracy Party International Alliance, Jie Lijian, told Epoch Times, “This is not just a commemoration, but also a legacy. Remembering the predecessors who sacrificed their freedom and lives for the ideals of democracy, their perseverance is the guiding light for all those who continue to move forward.”

The event organizer, young activists Zhu Li and Kong Beibei, have faced threats and harassment targeting their parents and in-laws back in China, leading to their relatives currently being in a state of disappearance. Kong Beibei stated, “I will continue to speak out, organize activities, and resist until our homeland truly achieves freedom, rule of law, and democracy. I believe that as long as we do not give up, we can definitely end the CCP’s dictatorship and usher in a new era that belongs to the people.”

Zhu Li added, “As a member of the China Democracy Party, I am well aware that this path is full of challenges and dangers, but it is also full of faith and honor. Numerous predecessors have been sentenced, persecuted, forced into exile under the high-pressure rule of the CCP, yet they have never given up on fighting for freedom for China.”

Party member Jia Huigang said, “I am willing to stand up because I believe that if each of us raises our voice, it can converge into a force to overthrow tyranny. I will continue to speak up and resist for the cause of democracy in China until our homeland is free from despotism, to embrace freedom, justice, and dignity.”

Professor Liu Yinquan, a member of the China Democracy Party, expressed, “Many people say that overseas activism is for shelter, but that is an insult to history and a blasphemy to the sacrifices of the victims. We cannot deny that over these years, those who have been detained, sentenced, and disappeared in the cause of democracy in China have paid with their lives! As long as the CCP stands, we will not stop speaking out. Even if we are lonely and misunderstood overseas, we must persevere!”

Party member Wang Chenlong stated, “Opposing the CCP is not about escaping, but about bringing change. As long as the CCP stands, I will not be silent.”

Another party member, Li Yeyi, said, “Standing in front of the Chinese Consulate General holding anti-CCP slogans, I felt a sense of responsibility. It’s not a performance, but a continued resistance. Thinking of the party members still imprisoned in China, recalling my own suppression, only solidified my determination to continue. Activism is not just about words, but about actions. I am not anti-CCP for my identity, but because I have seen the brutality of the CCP and have chosen not to stay silent anymore.”

The event concluded with protest marches. Participants expressed their commitment to continue supporting and advocating for China Democracy Party members who are still illegally detained and deprived of freedom, considering them as symbols of the conscience of the Chinese nation and the unyielding spark within the walls of dictatorship.

Jie Lijian concluded by stating, “Speaking out on the land of freedom is just the beginning. The China Democracy Party International Alliance will continue to unite democratic forces globally, uphold the beliefs of ‘peace, rationality, and non-violence’, and steadfastly advance the democratization process in China until the tyranny of the CCP is overturned, ushering in a new China of freedom, justice, and hope.”

Established in 1998, the China Democracy Party has always been committed to promoting constitutional democracy in China, with party members spread worldwide.
